Uploading

There are two ways to upload to Icedrive using the web app: 1. Using the 'Add New' Button: - Click on the 'Add New' button in the top right. - Choose to create a new folder, upload a file, or upload a folder. 2. Drag and Drop: - Simply drag and drop a file or folder into the app. - It will begin uploading automatically. You can monitor the upload status: - Click on the status circle that appears in the bottom right of the app. - This will display all ongoing uploads and indicate if any files failed to upload.

Encryption (web app)

If you have a paid plan, you can utilize our encryption service. Here's how to use it via the web app: 1. Click on the "Encrypted" section on the left side of your dashboard. 2. If it's your first time using the encryption service, you'll be prompted to input/select an encryption passphrase. - Note: This passphrase cannot be changed/reset without erasing any previous data stored in your encrypted section. 3. Keep in mind that with zero-knowledge encryption, even our software cannot access this section. If you lose or forget your passphrase, we cannot recover or access it for you. Uploading to the encrypted section via the web app is similar to uploading to the 'MyIcedrive' section. However, please allow slightly longer for uploading, previewing, and downloading in the encrypted section due to the encryption/decryption process.

Public Share Links

To create a public share link: 1. Right-click the file/folder you wish to share. 2. Click on 'Public Link' and enable it. This will generate a public share link to that file/folder. Once enabled, you can also customize the settings of the public link, such as: - Setting an expiration date - Setting a download cap - Disabling downloading of the link - Assigning an access password

Collaborate Section (Web app)

Within the Collaborate section of the web app, you'll find three areas: 1. Share With Me: - This section displays files that have been shared with you by other users. 2. Public Links: - Here, you can view all your active public links and manage them. 3. File Requests: - This area lists and manages all your file request links.

File Request Links

File request links enable collaboration with non-Icedrive account holders by allowing you to send a request for files. Here's how: 1. Right-click a folder within your cloud. 2. Select "Request File". 3. Input the recipient's email address. 4. They'll receive an email with the file request link to upload to the selected folder in your cloud.

Favourites (web app)

In this section of the web app, you can mark specific files or folders as favorites, ensuring they are listed here for quick and easy access. To mark an item as a favorite: 1. Navigate to the file or folder you want to favorite. 2. Right-click on the item to open the context menu. 3. Select the "Toggle Favorites" option. 4. The item will now be added to your favorites list in this section for easy access.

Recent

In the Recent section of the web app, you can easily access all the files that you've recently uploaded. Here's how: 1. Open the web app and log in to your Icedrive account. 2. Navigate to the Recent section, usually located in the sidebar or menu. 3. Here, you'll find a list of all the files you've recently uploaded, making it convenient to access your most recent uploads at a glance. Stay organized and keep track of your latest uploads with the Recent section in the Icedrive web app.

Trash - Deleting Files

The Trash section serves as a repository for all deleted files from your main 'MyIcedrive' section. Files remain here indefinitely until you decide to empty the trash section. It's important to note that files stored in the trash section still count towards your total storage amount. Here's how to manage your files in the Trash section: 1. Accessing the Trash: Navigate to the Trash section from the sidebar menu in the web app. 2. Permanently Deleting Files: To permanently delete files from your cloud, click the 'Erase All' button located in the top right corner of the Trash section. 3. Restoring Files: If you wish to restore files from the Trash to your main cloud section, right-click on the file you want to restore and select "Restore" from the context menu. 4. Recovering Deleted Files: If you've deleted files from the Trash section and require assistance, reach out to us via support ticket or email within a week after clearing your trash section. Our team will endeavor to assist you in recovering the files from our database, although restoration cannot be guaranteed. Our goal is to ensure that managing your deleted files is straightforward and that you have the support you need for file recovery when necessary.
